Location: Piney Point Trail – Piney Creek Gorge Address: Meet at the Paul Cline Memorial Soccer Complex parking lot, Beckley, WV 25801, Raleigh County Community Captain: Barbie When: Saturday, January 25th at 1:00 PM About This Event: Join Community Captain Barbie for a winter hike on the Piney Point Trail, a local favorite offering beautiful forest scenery and peaceful views of Piney Creek Gorge. This hike is a great opportunity to move your body, enjoy fresh air, and connect with other hikers in the community. What to Expect: • A guided group hike on a scenic, easy-to-moderate trail • A relaxed pace with time to take in nature and enjoy the outdoors • Potential for winter mud or snow conditions depending on weather How to Prepare: • Wear sturdy hiking shoes with good tread • Dress in warm layers and bring water • Trekking poles recommended if trails are snowy or slick • Arrive a few minutes early for check-in Registration to any Active SWV free programming indicates acceptance of our liability waiver for every adult and child attending. It is our expectation for larger groups of children (e.g., Scouts, youth groups, etc.) that an adult-to-child ratio of 1 adult to 5 children be observed in ages 5 and under, and 1 adult to 10 children be observed for ages 5 and above.
