Beartown State Park/Droop Mountain Hike

This is called the “Give a Mouse a Cookie” hike!  We’re going to Beartown State Park on September 8th .  It’s amazing….see for yourself!  And “If you’re going to go to Beartown, you’ll probably need to go to Droop Mountain” (Battlefield State Park).  Beartown is a slow 25 miles north of Lewisburg and Droop Mountain is five more miles.  Droop has several short, connecting, easy - medium trails.  Total length for the day will be between 4-5 miles.  Droop features a lookout tower, civil war history, small museum, fun playground.  Beartown - well, that’s a surprise! Please do not attend programs if you are not feeling well. https://rpb.li/rNo Regarding Community Captain Programs and groups of children: All Active SWV Community Captain programs are family friendly; children are invited to attend with the expectation of a parent/guardian ratio of 1 guardian adult to 5 children. It is our expectation for larger groups of children (e.g. Scouts, youth groups, etc), that an adult to child ratio of 1 adult to 5 children be observed in ages 5 and under, and 1 adult to 10 children be observed for ages 5 and above.
