Beginner Friendly Southside Trail Hike

Location: Southside Trail, Fayetteville side/Cunard Rd Community Captain: Jacki When: April 5th at 10am About This Event: Beginner hikers welcomed, this group offers a welcoming space to stay active and connect with others. All fitness levels are encouraged to join, even if you have never hiked or hiked on this trail before. What to Expect: • Hike length 3 miles • Meet at the parking area for Brooklyn Campground, at the bottom of Cunard Rd, past Cunard River access. *** Please note that there could be 5 min or more delays getting through Cunard Rd due to road work. Please plan extra time to arrive. • Jacki will hike at a low pace to accommodate multiple levels and will stop to talk about natural features and photos throughout. How to Prepare: • Bring Water, wear water resistant shoes and weather appropriate clothing • Hike will be cancelled in the event of extreme bad weather. Regarding Community Captain Programs and groups of children: All Active SWV Community Captain programs are family friendly; children are invited to attend with the expectation of a parent/guardian ratio of 1 guardian adult to 5 children. It is our expectation for larger groups of children (e.g. Scouts, youth groups, etc), that an adult to child ratio of 1 adult to 5 children be observed in ages 5 and under, and 1 adult to 10 children be observed for ages 5 and above.
