Community Captain Leah will be there to help you with any guidance needed. Please bring your own skates and helmet (required). The Summit does have additional helmets to borrow if needed. Directions: Please arrive at the “Summit Bechtel Reserve NORTH Entrance” This is the entrance just past the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve headquarters in Glen Jean, WV. Stop at the gatehouse, let them know you are there for the Active SWV skate session at Thrasher Mountain. Ask for a map at the Gatehouse to guide you Thrasher Mountain, if needed. The drive back to Thrasher Mountain from the gatehouse will take about 5-10 minutes. Park in the lot in front of the park area. There is NO bathroom facility available. All participants must have completed BOTH the Active SWV free membership/waiver and the Summit Bechtel Reserve’s Waiver (Community Captain Leah will have them). 2550 Jack Furst Drive (official address) will take you to an administrative building……so use “Summit Bechtel Reserve North Entrance” in your GPS. Stay on the main road until the first four way stop. Turn right, go up the hill and as it starts to level out turn right into the Thrasher Mountain Skate Park. If you turn right on an actual road you went too far. You will be able to see a big concrete, cylinder skate park feature from the road.
