Babcock State Park Hike

Tuesday, October 22, 2024 (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

Babcock State Park is one of West Virginia’s gems!  Skyline Trail (2 miles one-way) is a moderate hike overlooking the Glade Creek valley, with three overlooks near the top.  IF we have two or more vehicles, we will hike it from top to bottom, and then take the easy loop around Boley Lake (1 mile).  Add in some exploration time around the grist mill, visitors’ center, and cabin areas for a great day.  Bring snacks/lunch and water;  hiking boots or shoes with good soles are recommended.  To carpool/caravan from Lewisburg, meet at The Hub at 9:00 a.m.  Drive time is about one hour.  Please understand that we may need additional persons to drive, depending on number of hikers. Youth must be accompanied by a guardian and the adult must stay with them during the activity.  ActiveSWV has developed a new online program which provides FREE membership and access to all FREE programs.  Please fill this out at www.activeswv.org or fill it out at the hike.  Even if you sign up online, let the leader know on this site if you are coming.
