Description
Let’s get back to the Scenic Highway before snow closes it! High Rocks Trail on Saturday, October 5....3.2 miles out and back...is a relatively easy hike with views of Hillsboro and the Greenbrier River in the valley below. After the hike, we can check out the Cranberry Mountain Nature Center (if we are lucky and it’s open) and certainly learn about plants on the nature trail there. Bring snacks/lunch and water; hiking boots or shoes with good soles are recommended. The group may choose to eat at a restaurant on the way back to Lewisburg, but that is optional.
To carpool/caravan from Lewisburg, meet at The Hub at 9:00 a.m. Drive time is about one hour. Please understand that we may need additional persons to drive, depending on number of hikers.
Youth must be accompanied by a guardian and the adult must stay with them during the activity. ActiveSWV has developed a new online program which provides FREE membership and access to all FREE programs. Please fill this out at www.activeswv.org or fill it out at the hike. Even if you sign up online, let the leader know on this site if you are coming.
